The Sunburnt Hearts series follows a group of high school graduates from Barrenridge—a small, one-way in, one-way out town three hours west of Sydney—six years after finishing school. Some have returned to the small town, some are only just escaping for bigger and better things. One thing is for sure, despite being a typical farming community with an old goldmine, the town harbours more than just dust and secrets. Beneath its quiet surface simmers long-forgotten feuds, forbidden love and the kind of heartbreak that never truly heals.

The series follows the lives of a sports physio who gets a job with an NRL team, a Supercars driver, an NBA basketballer, an artist, the police chief’s daughter, and a DV survivor running from her past.
